PUBLIC OFFICIALS.

Council considered two charges brought against Jesse Rees Lee, Inspector (Third Class), Sanitary Department, for corrupt practices, and after examining witnesses found both charges proven, the Hon'ble the Principal Civil Medical Officer dissenting with regard to the first charge.

Council unanimously recommended that Mr. Lee should be suspended from office, and that pending the decision of the Secretary of State for the Colonies regarding his dismissal from the service he should be granted an alimentary allowance of $50 per mensem.
